Man arrested for discussing plans to commit mass shooting

Louisiana State Police arrest possible mass shooter

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit arrested Elbert White Jr, 58, of Shreveport yesterday.

White, a former employee at Overton Brooks Veterans Medical Center, was recently terminated. Police say that he confided in a co-worker that he was planning to commit a mass shooting at the hospital.

Once notified of the threat Veterans Affairs Police informed Louisiana State Police and the hospital was placed on lock down. White was arrested at his home last night and booked to Caddo Correctional Center. He is charged with terrorizing and violating his parole.
