NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Natchitoches woman was uninjured after the SUV she was driving left the road.
The reason for the crash? A sneeze, says Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Department.
Just after 2 p.m. on Nov. 26, Lacie B. Neilson, 23, was driving westbound on Fish Hatchery Road near Natchitoches.
She told sheriff’s deputies that the sneeze distracted her when she left the roadway and hit a brick mailbox.
The SUV’s airbags deployed during impact. Neilson was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
Natchitoches Parish sheriff's deputies were on the scene in under five minutes.
“Deputies remind motorists to always wear your seat belt,” wrote NPSO in a Facebook post. "It can signficantly reduce the risk of injury or even death in traffic crashes.
