JEFFERSON, TX (KSLA) - Fifteen of the best restaurants in Jefferson, Texas, showcased their best meals Sunday afternoon during the 28th annual Taste of Jefferson.
“Feels great; we do it every year," said Glades Peralta, who owns Don Juan’s Mexican Restaurant. "We have done it for the past 10 years, since we been here. It feels great. We love it when people come out; it feels great.”
Hundreds of people turned out for the event sponsored by the Marion County, Texas, Chamber of Commerce.
“Everybody getting out and visiting and showing off what we have in Jefferson, in our little town,” event coordinator Christy Buleson said.
Among those at the event were a group of witches collecting donations for a good cause.
“We’re raising money for the Texas Lions Camp. Several of us are members of the Texas Lions Club,” said Mary Spearman, who was with granddaughter Keeley.
Texas Lions Camp gives children with cancer, diabetes and physical disabilities an opportunity to have fun outdoors.
