BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - A group of churches in Bossier City have joined together to create a community awareness day to strengthen their neighborhood.
Harvest Temple, Antioch Baptist, Embrace Me Ministries, Restoration Church, Red River Baptist, Sunflower Baptist, Elizabeth Baptist and Stonewall Baptist churches will be hosting this event Saturday October 20th.
The event will take place at Stonewall Baptist Church on Eatman Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
There will be a variety of classes focusing on ‘adulting’ and parent education. The Council on Aging and the Cyber Crimes Unit will be speaking also.
Local colleges, and representatives from the military will have information booths set up, and there will be free health screenings for attendees.
Bossier City Fire and Police Departments will be there to showcase different demonstrations and interact with the community.
Free lunch will be served and door prizes will be given.
At 6:00 p.m. the community can come back to see a concert by the youth mass choir.
Parking will be available on site, but each church will have vans transporting people to the event as well.
