FIRST ALERT: Rain could impact your Friday evening and Saturday morning

Strong to severe storms are not expected Friday evening or Friday night. Not one parish or county in the ArkLaTex will even be under a Marginal Risk of severe weather. Most of NW LA and portions of E TX and SW AR are under the general thunderstorm outlook, though.

With the main energy associated with this front staying off to our north and northeast, widespread heavy rain probably won’t be a huge concern either. After the last couple of days, we could use some time to dry out. The latest run of FutureTrack shows the heaviest rain will likely fall across the I-30 corridor. This is where a 0.5-1.0″ of rain will be possible. Most places will likely only see between 0.25-0.5″ of rain. A few places may not even see that much rain.

A few high school football games could be impacted by rain. The best chance of rain Friday evening will be along and north of I-30. Shreveport-Bossier, the rest of the I-20 corridor and points to the south will likely stay dry. Many will not need an umbrella Friday evening, but everyone will need at least a light jacket. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees Friday evening.
