The Ark-la-Tex is about to go from the coldest day of the next 7 days to the warmest of the next 7 in only four days. Today has been overcast with morning lows hovering either side of 50. It was almost a carbon copy of Tuesday morning. By this afternoon we will range from the mid 50s to low 60s, Scattered light rain and drizzle will highlight the day. There may be patchy rain overnight with lows in the low to mid 50s followed by a mostly dry Thursday despite the clouds hanging on. Highs will be in the low 60s. Friday will be even warmer with highs in the mid 60s but rain will be on the increase, especially late afternoon into the evening. Friday night football may be affected, especially in the I-30 area.
Ahead of a cold front pushing through the Ark-La-Tex Saturday, temperatures in the I-20 corridor may top out near 70 before falling overnight. There will be a good chance of rain Saturday. The heat doesn’t last into Sunday, but the sun will make an appearance. The sun has been rare lately so that will be a bright spot in the day, literally. By the way, Sunday’s low will be in the 40s to near 50 followed by highs in the low to mid 60s. Now, here’s the bad news for Monday, other than back to work and back to school. Lows will be in the low to mid 40s. This will be the coldest lows of the season so far.
