Vehicle catches fire on I-20 East

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Traffic on Interstate 20 heading east was closed for a few hours Monday morning after several cars were involved in a crash on the interstate and one vehicle caught fire.

Traci Landry, public information officer for the Bossier City Police Department, told KSLA News 12 that the crash involved multiple vehicles and one car was totally engulfed in flames. The Shreveport Fire Department dispatched to the scene to put out the fire. One driver suffered minor injuries.

According to Shreveport DOTD, I-20 East was closed on the Red River Bridge. Traffic cameras showed the vehicle on fire as cars were at a standstill. At one point, congestion reached as far west as Interstate 49.

Traffic was also slow in the westbound lanes of I-20 from the Red River Bridge to Airline Drive.
