DeSoto woman found slain; deputies arrest suspect

DeSOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A DeSoto Parish woman has been found shot dead in her home.

And authorities think they have her killer in custody.

The discovery was made when DeSoto sheriff's deputies responded to a call about 12:10 p.m. Thursday to check on the well-being of a woman at a residence in the 2000 block of Louisiana Highway 191, the Sheriff's Office reports.

That’s about three miles southwest of the village of Stanley and about five miles southeast of the town of Logansport.

The woman tentatively has been identified as 65-year-old Rosemary Foley, authorities said.

Detectives have 19-year-old Clardis Edward Galloway Jr. in custody. He likely will be charged with second-degree murder, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.

Galloway’s last registered address is in Jefferson, Texas, but he is believed to have been staying in the Logansport area most recently, the spokesman added.
