BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Benton-based CBB Water must immediately conduct a 60-day chlorine burn of its system, Louisiana health officials say.
They have ordered the burn as a result of the dangerous, brain-eating amoeba being found in Bossier City’s water system.
The amoeba has NOT been found in the CBB system, which provides water to residents around the lakes by Cypress and Black Bayou in Bossier Parish.
Bossier City provides CBB with treated water for distribution.
CBB Water says its water is safe to drink.
But during the burn, the water will have the strong smell and taste of chlorine.
