SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - The annual Women Veterans of the Ark-La-Tex (WVOTA) fall fundraiser will be held this Friday, September 21, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at On the Bayou Southern Kitchen.

The event focuses on connecting veterans and members of the community.

This year’s theme is ‘Christmas in September.’ The event will feature Christmas themed vendors and tables set up with WVOTA information.

Local businesses have donated products and gift certificates for the raffle. Raffle tickets are $5 each and proceeds from fees and raffle go directly to the statue fund.

Members of the WVOTA are halfway to their $100,000 goal to build a bronze statue of a woman veteran at the Veterans Memorial at the Bossier City Municipal Complex. The statue will be dedicated to honor those women who have served, are serving and will serve our great nation.

KSLA News 12 has followed these ladies on their mission since its infancy stage.
