EAST TEXAS (KSLA) - Two Harrison County, Texas, men - including a pedestrian - died in separate accidents in East Texas over the past few days.
A Hallsville, Texas, man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck immediately north of his hometown about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety reports.
Preliminary investigation indicates that 29-year-old Adam Wayne Fredricks was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro at an unsafe speed when the northbound vehicle approached a curve on Buchanan Road a half mile north of town.
Authorities said the car left the road, struck a tree and caught fire.
Fredricks was pronounced at the scene by Judge Mike Smith.
Fredricks' body was taken to Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.
On Friday night, a pedestrian was killed on U.S. Highway 59 two miles south of the Marion County city of Jefferson.
Authorities have identified him as 21-year-old Caleb Allen Smith, of Marshall.
A witness told authorities that Smith was trying to cross U.S. 59 about 11:50 p.m. after being involved in a traffic crash.
He was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup traveling on U.S. 59.
Smith was pronounced dead by Judge Lena Pope, then his body was taken to Haggard Funeral Home in Jefferson.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
