BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - The ArkLaTex has a big reason to celebrate this weekend.
Saturday, the Louisiana National Guard will welcome home soldiers with the 165th Combat Sustainment and Support Battalion.
According to a news release, 70 or so soldiers have been deployed for nine months in Afghanistan. They have been helping in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel.
The 165th is no stranger to important missions.
The unit has also served during Hurricane Katrina and assisted with the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in 2010. The unit also served during the floods of 2016.
The soldiers will return to the 165th armory in Bossier City Saturday at approximately noon.
